Wedding of the Mice

For the Year of the Rooster New Year Celebrations, the “Wedding of the Mice” by the Tao Thiu Thia Puppet Theatre from Taiwan will be touring around the London area from 5-14 February including the Purcell Room, Cockpit Theatre, Victoria & Albert Museum and also Museum in Docklands. In addition to performing, they will visit 5 libraries throughout London where they will present the performances and workshops.

The “Wedding of the Mice” - a musical puppet theatre - is an adaptation of a traditional legend for the puppet stage, adding the character of a little girl that leads the audience through the performance. The whole story is told by an old lady (performed by an actress) who relives a magical experience she had when she was young. At the time, she accidentally fell into the Mouse Mansion and helped two young mice lovers to get together. The show is performed on an innovative and new stage with glove and rod puppeteers. Combined with the fine acting and music they present a fascinating spectacle.

After the Tao Thiu Thia Puppet Theatre’s successful 2004 tour in London, this is their second time performing in London. For further information regarding the Tao Thiu Thia Puppet Theatre , please visit their website at http://www.taiyuan.org.tw/
