International Youth Culture and Study Tour of Taiwan

 

The aim of the tour

To promote understanding of the Taiwan's history and culture and to introduce her current political, economic and social situation. To exchange ideas and experiences related to youth activities in different countries and thus strengthen international friendship and co-operation among young people.

The duration of the tour

Approximately 2 weeks in August (exact dates to be decided annually in March)

The location of the tour

Chien-Tan Overseas Youth Activity Centre, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.

The deadline for applications

May 15 annually

The language used

Basic Chinese and English

The sponsors of the tour

National Chengchi University, China Youth Corps of Taiwan, The Republic of China

The activities of the programme

Visits to government agencies, cultural institutions and national construction projects
Tour of historical sites and scenic spots
Briefing on youth activities of each country
International youth night

The cost of the tour

The registration fee and round trip international fares to and from Taiwan should be borne by the delegates themselves. The China Youth Corps will provide accommodation, meals and transportation during the tour in Taiwan.

Seminar on Chinese Studies for International Youth

The aim of the seminar

To offer an opportunity for young people to participate in international cultural and educational exchange, to promote friendship and mutual understanding and to offer a chance to learn about Chinese history and culture.

The date and duration of the seminar

Approximately 20 days over a period in July and August annually (exact dates to be
decided at the end of March each year)

The location of the seminar

Chien-Tan overseas Youth Activity Center, Taipei, Taiwan R.O.C.

The language used

Chinese and English

The deadline for applications

May 15, annually

National Chengchi University, China Youth Corps of Taiwan, R.O.C

The activities of seminar

Six special lectures in English will be conducted on Chinese culture, history, economy, traditions, customs, etc.
Chinese Conversation Classes. Participants will be divided into three classes according to their proficiency in Chinese

Sightseeing tours to places of interest in Taiwan

Visits to see Chinese Opera and other entertainment.

A talent show featuring participants in the seminar

Panel Discussions chaired by local experts and scholars

With a Chinese host family

The cost of the seminar

The registration fee, round-trip international fares to and from Taipei should be borne by the participants themselves. The China Youth Corps will provide accommodation, meals and local transportation in Taiwan.
