   Competition 3: World Schoolchildren's Art Exhibition 

The 34th World School Children’s Art Exhibition

Sep 1 through Oct 1, 2003

  1. Purpose:
    The purpose of the exhibition is to promote mutual understanding and friendship among the younger generation of the world through exchange of children’s art works.

  1. Organisers:
    The Association for Education through Art, Republic of China and the Association of Formative Art Education for the Republic of China.

  1. Qualifications for participants:
    Primary and elementary school children aged 6-15.

  1. Works for participants:

    a. Varieties:
    Oil painting, water colour painting, wood cut print, pencil sketch, crayon drawing, pastel, collage, etching, design, etc

    b. Size:
    Within 55cm X 40cm

    c. Number of works:
    The number of art works from each participating country is not limited, but that from each child is limited to one only. The following information is requested to be given in English on each entry:

    a) Full name of the child.

    b) Date & place of birth

    c) Sex and nationality.

    d) Name and address of the school or institution.

    e) All works for participation will not be returned.

     

  2. Deadline:
    Not being later than May 1, 2003. Entries are requested to reach the Association for Education through Art, Republic of China.

  3. Exchange of works:
    For exchange of the works of the Chinese children, participants are expected to submit their requests.

  4. Committee of Judges:
    Chinese artists, educators, child psychologists and art educators in the Republic of China will be invited to serve as judges on the committee.

  5. Prizes:
    According to the recommendation of the Committee of Judges, certificates and medals will be presented to the selected participants whose works show special excellence.

  6. Address:
    All communications and entries should be addressed to: The Association for Education through Art of the Republic of China, No. 62 Long Jiang Rd, Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China.

  7. Please make a list of the participants in the form supplied by the 34th World Children’s Art Exhibition and attach it to the participating works.

  8.  Introduction of the participating countries:
    In the exhibition, each country is requested to submit a brief statement of 200-300 words together with 5-10 pictures, introducing the special features and art education of the country.

  9. For research purpose on worldwide children’s art education, please provide a copy of your didaeties for art lessons, teaching guide, art curriculum designing, or any new method or theory.

  10. Identification label:
